Deer stops play

We were all quite happily shooting last night when a Red deer joined us, so we all had to stop whizzing arrows around, while the deer ran round the field a few times before leaving us with a spectacular bound. It was a pleasant interlude between looking for arrows. The deer was lucky our resident Hungarian wasn't there as we know from his holiday snaps, that it would have been shot , eviscerated, strapped to the boot of his car and transferred to the freezer before the juniors could have said "Oh look, Bambi".I don't think they are ready for bow hunting just yet and resultant blood and guts.

We saw an Owl at our last shooting session. It was circling the field next to where we shoot, before it dived into the long grass.

We are lucky with the wild life on our field.

Pheasants, badgers, rabbits and the farmers sheep all add to the outdoors experience that is archery.

Rabbits, Squirrels (almost got one once......), I believe we've a herd of deer in the woods somewhere, but I've yet to see any. Bird-life aplenty.

With a woodland course you get to see a fair bit of wildlife. I think I recall Indy saying there was a nest in one of the backstops we use for the 3D shoots. Dunno if the occupants have fledged yet, mind.

Mainly birds at our club, there was a kestrel nest and you see buzzards quite frequently. We have deer too though, and of course foxes and rabbits galore.

Over the hedge there are usually horses but a pig got in there once followed by amusement watching a couple of people trying to catch it, goats too sometimes.

We had a couple of extremely low flying Tornados the other week. I wonder if an ACC could take one out????

We also have the odd Kamikaze Crow and a model aeroplane!!!

:crowded: We don't do too bad for the animals, being next to the railway.
Our biggest pest is unwanted archers.

:duh: ........ :flech: ........... :censored:

Or 24 for a first arrow Burberry hit
That might work out too easy.....They all wear burberry, and lots of it!!!!

I think bonus points should be awarded if you can remove the burberry cap from their head.....extra bonus points it you can do it with an arrow!!!!:flech:

So no one else had any broadheads to harvest the venison for him then?? ;-) Lucky for the deer my 8 year old (semi tame) field archer daughter was not with your juniors or she would have been leading them in a hunting party!
