New PB

Having not shot for a month as I believe I've done some tendon damage in the fingers of my string hand, I decided to go down to my club and see what effect it would have on my fingers. (As it turns out not much, they still ache as much as they did before).

As the club was scheduled a Warwick round I thought this would be a good test. It was a nice evening pretty still, and not only am I glad I went because I missed shooting, but I also set myself a new PB with my longbow of 238 which I'm quite pleased with. A few poor shots, but for the most part I know what I did wrong.

PBs are always worth celebrating

Don't be too hard on your tendons, those sods take ages to recover (low blood-flow).

Well done on the PB, agree with caution on injured tendons - according to a physio that treated me for a tendon injury in my elbow a few years back, for tendons it's a slower effect than muscles, so it's more how do they feel 2 or even 3 days after use. He did explain why, but I don't remember the details, just the delay.

Healing is done (mostly) by the blood. There is little blood-flow in the tendons so healing is very slow. Muscles have high blood flow, therefore can heal very quickly.

Trust me, I'm not a doctor ;)

Thanks Andy, the next morning my fingers were a little stiff, but then they are most mornings atm, so I flex them to get things moving and they are generally fine after that. I think it's my kids that do more harm, but I'm still keeping it easy on the archery front.
