So are they used on bows without a shelf, i.e. the bows aren't cut to / past centre?

Barebow back tension vs Recurve back tension

Hi all. An interesting topic. Is back tension not related to keeping the scapula/rhomboid muscle activated, whilst the draw elbow in line with the arrow, rather than pulling further back on the string with the arms? so the action is rotational rather than linear. It is possible to keep pulling...

Woodies and Carbons from the same bow

Thanks Del. I use 600 because GT dont make anything weaker, 700 is available by other companies but not in wood finish. The carbons currently have feathers. Yes I will be experimenting in the near future. If I go 5/16 I'd have to put extra weight up front, (so the woodies come close to the...

Woodies and Carbons from the same bow

Thanks, I had a feeling it would be difficult, I shoot Goldtip Traditional 600 spine, which is closer to 11/32 wooden arrows. so the diameter is taken care of. The bow is 40lb on my fingers, so maybe if I increase the poundage a bit when shooting woodies, I may be able to get the same...

    Bow configuration

Hi I want to shoot a wooden ILF bow for 3D/Field. I currently use a 60” non-ILF bow the riser is 17”, my drawlength is 29” I’ve been told that a 21 or 23” is more stable, (creating a 62 or 64” bow), what do you think, and should I go for long or medium limbs? Thanks In advance
