    Which is stiffer

You could remove the arm guard and measure the depth of the lacerations 😵 wrong emoji, right expression. I would probably start very close and with bare shaft, work your way back and see how the arrows behave in the target every couple of yards (or metres if you are under 30 years old). That may...

    Which is stiffer

I coudn't agree more. Especially with barebow. They would only lay around 0.75mm to the left compared to the Paragons. Thats 3/4 turn on a button. Not insignificant but I have adjusted way more for less effect. Michael, You don't say how far apart your bare shafts are from fletched, or what...

Sorry yes, I agree with you, I m getting my o/d's crossed.

    Which is stiffer

But even if you didn't (assuming rt handed) the thinner Carbon ex would lay to the right increasing a tendency for a weaker looking shot. It is most likely down to dynamic spine differences but this is not easy for a manufacturer to specify, although arguably more useful

    Which is stiffer

Really. The gr/in are nearly equal at (1) 6.45 ans (2) 6.5 However your diameters are (1) 7mm sorry 6.2mmand (2) 4.84mm O/D So I assume you are adjusting your center shot for each arrow.

    Which is stiffer

I presume you have the same button setting for each? I must admit I would have assumed the 550 would be stiffer. Not because they are intrinsically so, but I have shot 730 at 28" and 600 at 29.5", both at 36 lb and drawing 29", with 80 gr in the 730 and 120 gr in the 600. The 600s were a little...

    Barebow Rose Awards!

Oooo, another badge! That was an opportune time to switch to Barebow:). I should read my AGB magazine more carefully (or at least read it). I must admit I hadn't realized barebow was not as well recognized as OR or compound until I changed from recurve. Anyone know if they will change the...

Archery netting versus back stop matting?

Now that's an idea. 100 grow bags stacked up. And you can plant it up.

This genuine or pinched from a club?

It looks like a genuine transaction. The seller has 1500 odd transactions against their account and has been selling since 2004. I know most thieves aren't that bright (otherwise the police wouldn't catch as many) but the seller is likely to be easily traceable.

Archery netting versus back stop matting?

That's a good point. I had not considered the matting as I thought it was small sizes only. The big downside is that it is around 1000g/m2. That's heavy. Compare that to heavy duty netting (ERA Club) that weighs around 450g/m2. Its soon adds up. But then double up the netting and hang loose, you...

Using an arrow inspector for cresting?

I bet having to build it every time you wanted to crest an arrow would get really boring:giggle:

AGB Advice for returning to shooting 13/5/20

I know a few people that would like to shoot 12 arrows an end especially if there are no longer 6 archers on a target. When I shot on my own I would shoot 18 arrows an end and close out out a FITA in 90 minutes. With so few archers being allowed on a field at one time, you really want to...

AGB Advice for returning to shooting 13/5/20

That's exactly what I am saying. There is likely more than one way to achieve the necessary degree of safety. What works for one club may not work for another. Some flexibility is necessary, as long as people properly understand the risk and can mitigate for it. Just because AGB say "ask for X...

AGB Advice for returning to shooting 13/5/20

I can't see why you can't use other pinch style pins. The RA says ask for JVD or Beiter, but it does not prohibit other pinch pins from being used, especially where the archer or club has decided others on the market offer the same or better benefits over the JVD. It should be enough to state...

AGB Advice for returning to shooting 13/5/20

I think the major issue on an outdoor field is separation of archers. For that I take my hat off to field archery clubs for outstanding foresight. Create good separation outdoors and follow good personal hygiene and the other risks are substantially smaller than shopping in a supermarket. No...

AGB Advice for returning to shooting 13/5/20

Looking at how some people are interpreting social distancing I suspect the government will have to re-introduce controls in the near future anyhow. I suspect clubs will struggle too, as people give in to laziness and break protocol, or you have to stand down wind of someone coughing, thinking...

3m to 5m shooting not the panacea to the pandemic

Really? or ;)? I have the following weight distribution as I like the bow to feel fairly heavy but with a neutral reaction on release to give no movement forward or back of the top limb. Total weight 950 g, with option for another 150 g on the front weight. Total bow weight 2.75 kg.

    AGB - no membership refunds

You can't really compare BASC to ArcheryGB. Their objectives are very different. Archery GB is a British Olympic Committee recognized sports organisation. AGB exist to develop the competitive and club elements of archery, provide structure, and a baseline for safety training and competition. The...
