Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Don't get me wrong, I believe the facilities are "fabulous" and will be a godsend to all involved. But I don't believe it is easy to poke holes in a design unless you put yourself in the shoes of a users and think the whole thing through. If the "right questions" had been asked of the targeted...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

I was going to post this a few days ago but didn't, on reflection it is I think worth posting as one last observation. One more thing that possibly could have improved the layout to the in out range, "as is, with windows" is that instead of the two doors being placed on the sides of the firing...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Of course the doors would be made wide enough to enable wheelchair access but it doesn't mean that you have to have 70 or 80cm doors! They could be set as double doors say "each" at 50 cm wide you could then open one or both in the set, depending on the users requirements. Obviously you would...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

I honestly don't see the attraction of grass, it is expensive to upkeep and as you state in the rain it causes problems. Why just a hardcore surface wouldn't suffice is a mystery, upkeep is minimal and probably cleaner in adverse weather. Glass doors do not require large frames and can be set on...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

When they have constructed a fabulous facility and taken into consideration the needs of para athletes, how the heck did they come to the conclusion that shooting through a window and then having to travel up to 20 metres to access outside was a better idea than having a door that opened to...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

I live in the campo surrounded by lemon orchards. The farmers sometimes are forced to undertake major landscaping. They have a machine that resembles a giant skip on wheels, this is capable of scraping 9 tons of topsoil, moving it to another location on say a 3000 sq m field within three...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Thank you for your explanation. It Just shows you that 3.5 million doesn't get you perfection. I'm honestly disappointed that they are using windows rather than doors. It would have made things much easier for direct access to the targets.

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Expresso, I know that I'm boring you but there is a simple design that they could possibly have regarded. If the 70 metre indoor shed had the outdoor 5m shooting shed additionally incorporated on the side with large doors that could be opened. Then when competition events were being held the...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

I have asked archery GB the question on their video, with regards to what features they have incorporated, to negate unnecessary travel to and from the outdoor target, when shooting from indoors, especially for wheelchair users. I honestly don't expect a response.

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Thank you for your response. Most archers do not show any interest in facilities. At least you took time from your nap.

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Sometimes copying another design doesn't give you the best outcome. An original design can usually be improved upon. I wasn't really objecting to the design, just commenting on the fact that they are shooting through a window and asking what others thought about the new facilities. I would...

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Indoors I shoot in my small studio, 12metres, outdoors either on my 30m range or 90m range.

Thoughts about the new facilities at Lilleshall

Watched the video on AGB site, the new facilities look very good, watching archers shoot from inside to outside through a window left me feeling a little disconcerted, (just felt wrong) I was wondering if all AGB members will now be covered, when shooting through their kitchen windows to the...

How beneficial is online coaching? Would you recommend it to certain archers.

It seems that my thought process is wrong. You are correct it is not coaching.

How beneficial is online coaching? Would you recommend it to certain archers.

I was actually thinking of where an archer looked in but didn't actually take the "one on one" lessons, certainly initially. Probably because people will look first before committing. These two scenarios come to mind. 1) A new archer who has just completed a beginners course but now finds no...

How beneficial is online coaching? Would you recommend it to certain archers.

I've been watching a few online archery coaches and wondered what others thought of their benefits to the average club archer and if you would recommend them and if so which ones?

Looks like your out of luck on here, possibly try Armin Hirmer's site or ask him (Aisatic Archery), he seems to review many horse bows.

    Sawdust as a boss filler?

Thank you, What depth would you use if you were to make a wooden box to house it in.

    Sawdust as a boss filler?

👌 will be careful. Sounds logical, not as many woollens down here in Spain though. 😊 but I'll keep that in mind.
