    50+ UK records

I've been informed by our county TO that " AGB are not accepting record claims for Portsmouth over 50s yet." Anyone know why this is? Asking as I shoot a 563 Portsmouth (barebow 50+) at an RS shoot and was hoping to make a claim. If this is true, then why are there records 50+ for Worcester...

    Cutting down ACE's

I've just ordered a set of ACE's (570), my first set of new arrows. I have read (but cannot find it again) that the characteristics of the arrow change dependant on were to cut the excess off, ie. all off the front, all off the back and some off each end. Does anyone have a link to this info.

Last Sunday my brother Phil Shore won Gold at the Masters, male barebow, only two archers in his class so a poor turnout but still a great result.

    Bare shaft tuning

I was trying to tune my new (to me) Uukha UX100 #38 to my ACC 620 28" on Friday, but the bare shafts were going left (bare shafts in the black, fletched in the 10 zone, 122 face at 30m), increasing the poundage wasn't bringing them in to the right. Out of desperation I removed the tape off the...

    Gillo or Uukha

I have a Gillo GT 25" riser and am looking to replace my SF Ultimate Pro Limbs with something more modern. The ones on my radar are Gillo GTL88 or Uukha UX100 (I'd like the VX1000 but cost is to high). The Uukha's are a proven limb for string walking and universally liked my many BB and OR...

Gold at the Middlesex indoor open

Bagged the gold for male barebow at the Middlesex indoor open, didn't shoot very well but managed to scrape 536 (Portsmouth round) to beat second place by 1 point. Also took gold in the barebow team event with my brother, plus others in my club had good placing's as well. To top it off it I'm...

    Laleham Archery Club's medal haul.

As a club we had 21 archers entered in the Guildford WA25 last Sunday. We're quite unusual as we have a lot of barebow archers, this turned out to be a good thing. Medals were awarded for each of the three sessions and then for overall, plus a team event. Laleham won medals in every barebow...

    Some arrows going left.

The last two session I've had some of my arrows going left, in the black/blue when most are red/gold (WA18 round). It's about 1 in 6 arrows, I didn't feel that I did anything wrong, we all know when it was us. I suspect the pressure button my need replacing, as may be jamming up and pushing the...

    January Challange results

Has anyone seen the final results for this years January Challenge. I've seen part of the preliminary results and it looks like the Bearbow section was hotly contested, putting my score of 549 in 15th place, previous years that would have put me in the top 5.

    Compound Bow Disabled compounder advice

My son is disabled and shoots with a mouth tab, due to this he has a short draw length, he's shooting a recurve now but the mouth tab and lack of fixed anchor point is making it impossible to be consistent, so a compound bow seams to be the solution. We are trying to find a compound bow that...
