Hi all, I need some advice, What but would you think is goin to last longer over the course of time. A straw or a foam. Also Its for use with a crossbow, I have told my customer he is better to go for the impactor target boss but he wants to stick to the straw/foam.

the problem with straw bosses is that if you are too accurate in the same place, that place starts to go soft very quickly and it can't be replaced. Cross bows are supposed to be quite accurate, especially over short distances. i've no idea what sort of poundage your customer is shooting but i would have thougth a foam boss with a replaceable center in would have suited him better.

I have shot bows and Xbows and the one I bought was the multi layer version foam sheet type.

This can be dismantled and 'top and tailed' to bring unused portions into play.

Xbow poundage shouldn't cause a problem until you get above the 150lb draw weight mark and into the realms of USA hunting poundages.

Up till then they are only comparable with top weight compounds.
