Hi
Looking to try to make my own tackle case out of wood with inbuilt wheels etc and was wondering if anyone has done this and have any plans you could send to me please?

Looking to have arrow in lid with a thin inner lid to cover& protect the Arrows
Stabelisers underneath arrows
Limbs and riser next level down
With the base holding all the other bits of kit
Instead of reinventing the where'll if anyone has a design it would be greatly appriciatd
thank you

I made one many years ago using marine ply & though not difficult to construct I found it very hard to balance weight with strength.
Sorry to say that my plans are no longer in existence but my advice would be to go with the lightest materials you can get away with & still maintain a degree of robustness.

I am looking to make a case as well.
My interest is to make it as small as possible - and as light as possible too ha ha.
Detachable wide wheels would be good to enable smooth passage over mud.

I am not keen on plastics as they tend to crack/damage with rough handling.
I am not keen on wood due to excessive weight.

What other options are there?

I am keen to discuss!

Well . . .
You can't go far wrong with a box I would guess.
I will be concentrating on the innards coming up with novel ideas for compact storage.

A starter for 10 . . . .

How about a few (2-3-4) layers of high density foam (cut out to accept equipment) and then surrounded by some rugged wrapping as per something like Legend bow cases use?

Zips to be placed at levels to suit the tickness of each foam layer?

Well I have made a start, bought some ethafoam from the web, sliced and diced it and made cutouts for my gear.
Bought some thin ply to hold it together and some small quad section rod to glue all internal edges together.
Bought PVA to fix the laminates together.
Found a website that does made-to-measure zip bags and have sent an enquiry for a quote.
I will add a couple of piccies in a mo, but seem only to be able to add one per post so bear with me.

And before I go any further - please don't smirk at my DIY skills ha ha.

Well I have exceeded something, so I will describe instead.
Foam thickness 20mm, riser depth with sight mount 6 layers of foam.
I decided to go for 3 in the base of the box and 3 in the lid, this may seem odd until you think about the variation in riser depth - 3 to support the riser and 3 to clamp down on top of it to hold it in place.

I just hacked out other shapes for v-bar, sight, button etc.

Ply top and bottom for rigidity, undecided whether to put ply on the sides at the moment.

Looking forward to hearing from bag makers.
