Be interesting to see if the Battle of Basing shoot will try to get record status for their US style Vegas shoot in Feb... I know our club will stick to the old round for our league shoot, because, you know, got to fill a three hour session.

Otherwise, meh

So, basically a half-Vegas then. Why not, a round that can be comfortably completed during a 2 hr sports-hall session can't be a bad thing, can it?

The Worcester is an abomination that should have been strangled at birth!

- No amount of tinkering will transcend the inherent ugliness of the round 👹

The other changes to the vegas, are the Vegas 300 is over 20 yards rather than 18m (distance for the 'old' vegas).
Also, the rules refer to Rule 404 for scoring, so compound scores 10 for inner ten only.
But specifically in the scoring at rule 409 a:
Scoring.
(i) The scoring zones on the target face will be from 10-6.
(ii) Any arrow hitting the smaller centre circle within the 10 ring shall score as an X, but count as a 10.
(iii) Rule 404 applies for scoring.
(iv) Score totals need to include score, number of 10’s and number of x’s.
(v) Tied scores will be decided in the following order:
- Score
- Number of 10’s
- Number of x’s

Surely if compounds score 10 for inner golds only, then all 10s will be x's.
In the US the 10 is for inner and outer, then x's would be the tie breaker

Then why does it specifically refer to rule 404 in rule 409a?
Because both 404 and 409a are Archery UK rules not American rules and a proper Vegas round is big tens and X's and arrows shot in sequence Anything else is just a knock off.

I understand that but it doesn't answer the question .....
how can you have x's as a tie breaker when all compound tens will be an x.
404. Scoring
(a) The scoring points for hits on the target face are:
Zone
Compound Bows
Non-compound bows
Inner 10
10
10
Inner Gold
9
10

why the hatred? I have a fondness for that round as it netted me the highest attainable badge from a club.

The same way that tie breakers are dealt with in a WA18 and a WA25. Every inner ten is put down on the score sheet as an X but is counted as 10 points when calculating the dozen score. thus
XXXXXX 60 XXXXXX 60 dozen 120 .and 12 X's

As far as i was aware there were no x's scored in a WA18, the inner 10 for recurve was just a 10 and only the inner 10 was a 10 for compound.
The new Vegas 300 specifically refers to x's being used as a tie breaker.
What is the point of setting out that you can shoot an x when if shooting a compound all the 10s will be x's?
AGB have picked up the rest of the US style rules, including the 10.7mm arrows, why have they left the scoring unchanged?

we are all making the assumption that there hasn't been a mistake made... ;)

We've had confirmation from AGB re the scoring for the V300:

The round is scored with 30 Arrows big 10, for both recurve and compound, and the inner 10 is scored as an X.
An example of a scored end would be XX10.
