my advice would be to practice every distance equally if you can on the rounds you intend to shoot at,
i.e. due to my age i am in open mens recurve so my distances are (90m,70m,50m,30m)
but like most people i have time and ground restraints so i end up with the majority of arrows at shorter distances,
but as for moving out to longer distances i say when you feel comftable then do it,
start with a walk back, 20m then 30m then 40m etc etc, less chance of losing an arrow, so long as your boss is set aside from the others,
